About the Museum

The Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum, Inc., is an all-volunteer not-for-profit 501(c) 3 organization founded in 1984. Our mission is to foster interest in the history of railroading in the Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts and beyond. The mission is accomplished in part through the operation of safe, educational, and entertaining train rides between Lenox and Stockbridge. Revenues generated by the train rides, are used to maintain the Lenox Station, equipment, artifacts and exhibits.

To further this mission, the Museum collects, restores, preserves, operates and displays railroad equipment and artifacts in addition to providing a repository for information of an educational and historic nature relating to the history of railroading in the Berkshires.
